Can a solod IDS farming be done with a W/Mo class? If so can you guys tell me what skills I should be using?

You really don't need mending to stay alive. Do the mesmer secondary quest and purchase elemental resistance.
A friend of mine tried to convince me he could handle it as a wa/mo, so I took him along a few times--he hasn't survived the entire cave once. He did manage to get a sword and was quite handy dealing with a couple of horrible spawns (we took out two full groups of avrica that spawned at the mouth of the cave with about 16 imps).

If you know a secret farming spots its best just to keep your mouth shut. Either the drops will be lowered or your build will be nerfed.

I just tested this theory, and I don't think your drop rate is affected by how many others are also doing the run. I did three runs last night, with five districts at the citadel - got no swords.
Did two runs early this morning, with just two districts - still no sword.
Granted, in an ideal world I would have tried to do ten runs each time so I'd have a larger sample size, but it's not like the swords suddenly started dropping when I did runs at a different time.
I've gotten two swords, so this wasn't intended to be a complaint - just an observation.

You assume too few variables...I'm pretty sure the "cool down" rate is not instantanious...people would have to not farm the area for a while.

I'm thinking it has more to do with how much time that character has spent in the area recently. I seem a lot more likely to get an IDS if I go farm for candy canes for an hour or two before a run.

It had the whole night to "cool down" - my last two runs were early in the morning. The citadel won't cool down any more unless the swords go away and people completely stop going after them.
I think I agree with Ellix right now - I think it's more affected by the time your character has spent there. Time to go farm candy canes somewhere for a while....

See it doesn't matter how little you personally farm it, even when you're not on people are mapping into Tasca's Demise and running off to farm. The cooldown never even gets a chance to occur.

Anyone else noticed the slight increase in Sword 20% Enchantment pommels? they seem to be around 60-65k now were as a week ago i saw some going for 40-45k tops.
I'm assuming it's the IW players with the IDS.

Since I'm on the East Coast, there's a period of time where the farming is primarily of the European and Korean servers. The morning my time is as "cool" as it will get on the American servers unless the swords go completely away.

I'm just guessing but somehow I doubt the cool down time would be minutes or hours...try days.

250 fit in one inventory slot. 8 slots hold 2000.

What a terrible IW weapon - nothing screams "IW" more than a mesmer bearing a huge glowing blue sword - and since stats mean nothing when you're running IW, I'd think you'd want the smallest, cheapest most inconspicuous sword you could find...
I suspect it's all the Wamo's who want to make their mending last longer.

A mesmer with any melee weapon is going to stand out as a IW, i'm guessing they would be chancing the 'look cool' factor. I haven't seen it of course as i don't play PvP but it just seemed to be lately that the price and increased a bit and it's the only reason i could think of.
